With the invasion of the Allied Forces into Iraq the relevancy of International Law has disappeared. What does law in any case mean when the authority behind it is powerless against the offender? We have entered into a phase of human history in which the brute force of the US will dictate the rules. The way in which US politicians and diplomats have scoffed at the very existence and relevancy of International Law, underscores this point.
We live in a world of diminishing natural resources and what we have seen and will be witnessing in future is the barbaric, animal like behavior of nations competing for oil. No rules other than corrupt power apply. International conventions and human life and dignity are of little or no consequence. Aggression, indiscriminate bombing and shooting of civilians, torture, abduction and looting make a mockery of the Geneva Conventions. The spoils belong to the victor and (in)justice to the vanquished.
While we are still struggling to come to terms with the Iraq invasion and all the evil attached to it, we are faced by a new and even greater threat. In this regard you are referred to an article by by Michel Chossudovsky under the heading “Bush Administration War Plans Directed Against Iran”. Do read it.
Now, unless the international community does something very different, our chances of preventing another calamity of gigantic proportions, are nil. But why wait for someone else to do something? Let us bloggers, in addition to our various personal reasons for blogging, establish and join the Bloggers Army and contribute to a joint effort to sway the international community back to the Rule of Law.
The saying goes that ‘the word is mightier than the sword’. With millions of bloggers out there, armed with the written word, we are capable of influencing public opinion and making sure that sanity prevails.
I am very sure that, with the treasure of original and brilliant ideas for which bloggers are well known, we can develop a group and strategy that will have a huge impact. So, write and join the army - the Bloggers Army! Also provide your ideas on how you think we should proceed and how we can make sure that participating blogs do benefit.

I support the idea of a blacklist. I further like the idea of a bloggers network as a true agent interacting between a peoples’ judicial system and the public out there. The name ‘Bloggers Army’ is however stupid and I would much more prefer something like the ‘Bloggers Brigade’.
In a sense the blacklist reminds me of the biblical story where Cain killed his brother and God confronted him by saying (Gen. 4:10-12) “What have you done? Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand ….. A fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth …..” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain ….”
In our scenario the blacklist represents the “Mark of Cain” and those listed shall bear the curse of Humanity.
