The liberals are at it again. They have scarcely come over the shock of acknowledging defeat in the Deon Maas/Rapport saga when being faced by a new onslaught. This time it is an organized campaign to organize a boycott against the film The Golden Compass. There is just no rest for the wicket’s soul!
Again their defense against this so-called ‘fundamentalist’ Christian onslaught is freedom of speech. Accepting that the film is put forward as ‘speech’ I also understand the boycott campaign to be ‘speech’. It would seem to me that both sides are free to speak. Both sides are free to listen and read. Both sides are free to ignore the other. So, what is the problem, that conservative Christians within our decadent society, even dare to exercise the rights?
Nowhere did I notice the mentioned of the right to Freedom of religion ……. !
Just a final thought: It is becoming high fashion for people to declare themselves atheists. I also hate organized religion but one need not throw the baby out with the wash water. It might serve you well to think and read a bit more before expressing yourself. The Universe might just right you off as a fool!
